The First Foundation
Leander "Podnah" Winfield
The first Leander Winfield — known throughout the community as "Podnah" — planted the seed of what would become a dynasty. "Podnah" began in construction as a laborer, but his skills quickly made him stand out to become a foreman. He guided the construction of many of the homes in Baton Rouge from the early 1910's and 20's. He planted the seed that would become a dynasty.
The Second Generation
Leander "Brother" Winfield
The next Leander Winfield — known throughout the community as "Brother" — built on the legacy his father created. As he had seen so much construction growing up, he was truly a natural leader in construction.
A local newspaper featured him and his son William joining together in a home repair business: "Father and Son Join Together in Home Repair Business." Those four words: "Plans, Materials, Labor, Financing" have continued to be integral to our skills and success.
The Third Generation
William Winfield
William "WT" Winfield inherited not just his father's tools, but his vision. Running Homestead Maintenance, Inc. first, then growing into engineering, "WT" expanded the scope — residential repair became residential development. He also served his community as a City Council member, embodying the belief that builders shape more than just structures.
The Fourth Generation
Darlene Winfield
Darlene Winfield built on the legacy and expanded the family capacity in Planning and Financing. She developed her skills in Human Resources, Financial and Operational Business Management. These skills pushed the business side forward in our regulatory world.
